ALIEN fighters, be at the ready, you are needed for a special mission at Seacombe Spaceport.
Only the most heroic extra-terrestrial fighting marines need apply to defend and protect Spaceport visitors and hunt the terrifying alien loose in the centre.
All potential recruits for the job will be selected this week after a series of interviews and auditions.
Spaceport general manager Ken Moss said: “It’s not a joke. We really do have the vacancies which need to be filled urgently.”
Twelve new recruits will be selected to work at the new reality experience, Alien Wars – a 15-minute simulation which could put you right into the middle of the film Alien.
An unearthly entity has been genetically created to fight and kill. Although blind, it hunts and kills on sound. It does not eat, sleep and is virtually indestructible.
Alien Wars has already been staged in London and Glasgow and is due at Spaceport, which is owned by Merseytravel, later this month.
The interactive total reality adventure has been described as terrifying and makes visitors feel like they are in the real Alien film.
There are mazes of smoke filled corridors, intermittent lighting, special effects and of course special marines on hand to protect you.
Ken Moss said: “The Alien Wars experience is unique. Its fun but it can also be terrifying. This is the first time anything like this will have been staged in our region.”
Auditions for the alien fighting marines will be held at Spaceport, Seacombe Ferry Terminal, this Thursday.
Ken added: "Experience with aliens is not essential for the job but applicants will need to be healthy, not easily frightened and have an outgoing personality.”
Applications are available from the alien hotline on 0151 330 1452 or from Suzanne.politi@merseyferries.co.uk
Alien Wars opens to the public on 17 July 2009.
