Rail travellers are no mugs!
SENIOR rail chiefs played a mugs game during rush hour on the Wirral Line.
Merseyrail and Network Rail directors helped hand out thousands of stainless steel travel mugs to passengers as a thank you for their patience during almost seven weeks of engineering work, which meant trains terminating at James Street.
Merseyrail managing director Bart Schmeink said: “I am pleased that the work on the Wirral loop line under the city centre has now finished exactly as scheduled.
“This small present acknowledges that their journeys to work have been more difficult."
