A CHIROPODIST accused of wrongly diagnosing a patient has been cleared by a professional watchdog.
Victor Michael Goodman, who runs a practice in Rake Lane, Birkenhead, faced allegations that his care of an elderly patient did not come up to scratch when he was taken before the Health Professions Council (HPC) last week.
But after a two-day hearing all the allegations against him were unproved and the panel decided no further action was necessary.
Mr Goodman, 62, who qualified as a chiropodist in 2000 after a career in hotels, said he was relieved and pleased with the decision.
He said: “There were five allegations against me and each and every one of those allegations were not found.
“I don’t feel any elation. I’m just pleased it’s over. This could’ve had serious consequences.”
The allegations against Mr Goodman related to the care of a 76-year-old female patient he saw in 2006.
