WIRRAL LA21 has changed its name.
The environmental group will now be known as Wirral Environmental Network (WEN).
It is hoped the change of name will help increase membership and improve awareness of the group’s work.
WEN was formed in 1985 as Wirral Green Alliance, an umbrella organisation representing the non–party political aspirations of the Green movement in Wirral.
Members include individuals, campaigning groups, community groups and Green businesses.
WEN aims to promote and facilitate ethical and environmentally friendly lifestyles.
WEN projects across the borough include Fairtrade in schools, gardening courses, community allotment gardens and Community RePaint Wirral.
RePaint aims to make good quality paint available in return for a small donation, starting at 50p per litre.
WEN is based at the Sandon Building on Falkland Road, Wallasey. For more information contact 639 2121 or visit www.la21.net.
