Chico set to get a Slice of the action

IT’S Chico Time at Slices tonight! The X Factor singer will be joining Mr S Cowell and the nightclub’s owner Mark Taylor to decide the winner of “Birkenhead’s Got Talent 2”.

The competition has been running at the Conway Street venue for the last 15 weeks and follows a hugely successful run last summer.

Stephen Goodacre, of Bebington, was last year’s Birkenhead’s Got Talent winner – and said he planned to use the competition as a springboard to a singing career.

Thirteen singers will compete for a top prize of £1,200, with £550 for the runner-up.

And Britain’s Got Talent’s keyboard playing-contestant, Wallasey’s Michael Machell, has been added to the line-up after wowing the judges in the semi-final.

Slices owner Mr Taylor said: “Birkenhead’s Got Talent has been fantastic this year and we’ve seen some great acts – the standard has been much higher.

“Apart from Michael Machell, everyone who’s made it through to the final is a singer and we’ve got a really good range of acts, with songs and singing styles right across the board.

“Mr S Cowell will be joining me and Chico as judges. We’ve had a good response for the last 15 weeks and we’re expecting it to be busy again so get here early!”

Chico will be performing with the winner live on stage later in the night. Doors open at 8.30pm. For more information call Slices on 650 1260.
