COMPUTING student Harry McLaren, 19, pictured, from Hoylake, has become the first full-time student of Wirral Met to gain the Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician qualification.
Harry and Mike Haxby, the college’s curriculum leader for computing, were invited by Microsoft to attend a Parliamentary reception hosted by Ellesmere Port and Neston MP Andrew Miller in his capacity as chairman of the Parliamentary Information Technology Committee.
Wirral Met was selected as part of Microsoft’s programme to raise the awareness of its Academic IT Academy scheme which provides the opportunity for full and part-time learners to achieve industry recognised certifications.
