Birkenhead company refits cruise liner

A BIRKENHEAD company has put the sparkle back into a cruise liner.

Marine engineering specialist SeaKing Electrical has upgraded Thomson’s cruise liner Thomson Dream, which holds 1,500 passengers, cruising the Caribbean and Mediterranean.

Work included upgrading its beauty salon and health club. A mood lighting scheme was also installed along with power, fire systems, data sockets and telephone lines.

Eight electrical engineers completed the project in Tenerife and Hamburg in a month.

SeaKing’s Neil Mellenchip said: “This demonstrates our ability to manage complex electrical installations in a variety of locations.”
