Alcohol to blame for popular Wirral musician Miles Carrington's death

POPULAR Wirral musician Miles carrington had been drinking four to five bottles of wine a day before he died.

An inquest heard that Miles Carrington’s long-running battle with alcohol led to his death.

The well-loved guitar player, 33 from Bromborough, died after blood loss from “catastrophic” haemorrhage caused while vomiting.

He had also fallen on to a radiator, cutting his forehead and losing more blood.

Assistant Deputy Coroner Martin Fleming said this injury also contributed to his death.

Mr Carrington was found on his bedroom floor at 3pm on November 5 last year by his father John Carrington.

Mr Carrington snr tried in vain to resuscitate his son.

The inquest heard how concerns for Mr Carrington had grown after he lost his job at Manpower last August and received a job rejection in October.

His family frequently visited him in his flat when he became unable to cook for himself as his drinking worsened.

Mr Fleming said Mr Carrington had been “giving it 100% to try and break the habit” over the years, checking himself in for therapy as long ago as April 2009.
