LIVERPOOL FC anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone has been given a video makeover featuring a host of famous faces.
A new film to accompany the Gerry and the Pacemakers version of the track, played before every Reds home game, has been released by record label EMI.
Starring actresses Tina Malone and Margi Clarke, Olympic boxer Natasha Jonas and up-and-coming band The Hummingbirds, the video was shot across Merseyside.
Locations used included city pubs Peter Kavanagh’s and Ma Egerton’s, Birkenhead fire station and Rotunda Boxing Club, Kirkdale.
Other scenes were shot at Warrington Town FC and outside Anfield stadium.
And the black and white film has been given the highest honour it could hope for – Gerry Marsden’s seal of approval.
Gerry, 70, said the film captured the passion of the people of Liverpool and was a fitting setting for his 1963 number one. On October 31 it will be exactly 50 years since to single made it to the top of the charts.
The new video was made by production company The Fyzz Music Video.
Managing director Wayne Godfrey said: “The video pays homage to the iconic song, a legendary band and a great city.
“It really is a video for the people.”
The production company said it was grateful to local people who acted as extras during the filming.
The video has had more than 65,000 views on YouTube, with positive comments from fans of Liverpool and other clubs around the world.
