AMANDA Oliphant graduated from Wirral Met/Liverpool JMU with a BA Hon’s (1st class) in Fine Art in 2005 followed by a one year Fellowship in 2006, where an exhibition at the Williamson Art Gallery showed an extensive collection of her work.
Amanda then undertook further study, gaining an MA in Art as Environment at Miriad, Manchester Metropolitan University, allowing continued research into art and ecology.
Amanda has a tactile and connective association to any object or material being transformed and her varied works are metaphors for exploring associations to the natural world through different mediums.
Amanda continues to be an active member of several artist groups including Wirral Open Studios and has exhibited both nationally and internationally. Her most recent work includes designing two Olympic mascots for the London Discovery Trail.
Other projects include a Superlambanana, the Liverpool Biennial, International exchanges, collaborations and various school workshops. Her artistic practice is constantly being re- arranged by new interventions, exhibitions and projects and her works have been shown in London, USA, Berlin, Austria, Turkey, and Australia.
After many years of commuting to a Liverpool studio Amanda now has a studio in Hoylake and she supports many local art projects including the Wirral Open Studio Tour.
