AN investigation is underway after a fire at an industrial unit in Wirral last night (Saturday, January 26).
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called out to the blaze at the single storey building on Chester Road just before 8.10pm.
The unit, which measures 30 metres by 20 metres, was connected to two other units.
But firefighters managed to contain the fire to prevent it spreading.
Chester Road was closed by the police while fire crews were tackling the blaze.
The unit was damaged by fire and smoke and a second unit was also smoke damaged.
Four appliances attended from Heswall, Upton, Bromborough and West Kirby community fire stations. An aerial appliance and the Incident Management Team also attended.
A spokesman for the MF&RS Incident Investigation Team said the cause of the fire is being investigated.
