TWO men were taken to hospital after a fire at a Wirral house.
Firefighters are investigating the cause of the blaze which broke out near Wheatland Lane, Wallasey.
There were delays in tackling the fire due to a ruptured gas pipe which had to be cut off before fire crews could get inside safely.
Neighbouring houses were evacuated as a precaution and two men were taken to Arrowe Park hospital shortly after midnight today.
Fire service group manager Paul Murphy said: “A bay window’s glass had been blown out and there was some damage to brickwork at the property. No part of the structure had collapsed.”
