A WALLASEY man was told he is facing a prison sentence after being found guilty of child sex offences carried out in the 1990s.
Mark Maddocks, 32, was found guilty of three counts of indecent assault and two counts of gross indecency with a child after a week-long trial at Liverpool Crown Court.
He was acquitted of a single count of rape and an alternative charge of indecent assault on a second girl.
He was accused of abusing the girls – now adults – when they were six and between nine and 11 years old.
Maddocks, of Trafalgar Road, Wallasey, had claimed witnesses in the case had a “vendetta” against him over money and were making the stories up.
But jurors deliberated for just under eight hours before returning guilty verdicts on most of the charges.
Maddocks will be sentenced on February 11.
