Woman’s body found near shops

A WOMAN’S body was found behind a row of shops in Moreton.

Police were called to Pasture Road at 8.45am Thursday, December 27 after a member of the public raised the alarm.

Oakenholt Road, which is at the rear of the shops, was taped off for several hours while forensic officers examined the scene.

Police said that her death was not being treated as suspicious and the matter has been referred to Wirral Coroner’s office.

The woman is believed to be in her 50s but her name has not been released.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: “Officers were called to Pasture Road at about 8.45am following a call from a member of the public who had reported the discovery of a woman's body at the rear of the shops.

“At this stage the death is not being treated as suspicious.”
