WHILE the bulk of the society’s income comes from councils paying fees for the support they provide for their autistic clients major projects depend on fund-raising.
In recent years these included the building of The Ferns at a cost of £1.3m, raised in just two years.
Other recent projects included the creation of the garden centre in Bromborough Pool Village and the restoration of the society’s narrow boat, used by clients every day.
The current performing arts appeal for much-needed equipment for clients who benefit from music, dance and the visual arts is heading steadily towards it £20,000 target.
Fundraiser Rick Myers said: “We have recently had wonderful support from a wide range of celebrities such as Ken Dodd, Mike McCartney, Pauline Daniels and Dean Sullivan.”
