A MAJOR hotel chain wants to open a 67-bedroom hotel in Birkenhead.
Premier Inn has applied to Wirral council to convert offices formerly used by the Crown Prosecution Service.
The 1960s St Mark’s building in Conway Street, near the tunnel entrance and close to Hamilton Square, was marketed as offices but was not sold.
The application, if approved, would see part of the T-shaped building demolished to allow extra parking while the remainder is converted into a hotel, including a restaurant and bar.
