Wirral Met College launch supported by sports stars

OLYMPIC bronze medallist Natasha Jonas and Tranmere Rovers stars opened Wirral Met College's new hair, beauty and complimentary therapy salons. 

Boxer Natasha, who is originally from Wallasey, was joined by Rovers' players Max Power, Andy Robinson and Zoumana "Zoom" Bakayogo at the Academy Salons on Wednesday, November 14.

The salons are based at the Conway Park campus in Birkenhead.

During his visit, Zoom was given a haircut by student Kristian Evans while Andy took time out for a relaxing reflexology treatment. 

Cathryn Lyon, Wirral Met’s Programme Team Manager said, “These wonderful new facilities at the college mean we can take a more commercial approach to hairdressing and beauty, which is a major growth area locally. 

"We’re delighted that Natasha, Max, Zoom and Andy were there to help us celebrate the launch of our new salons, which were part of a £6m investment programme in the college’s facilities."
