Financial advisor in court accused of £340,000 fraud
A FINANCIAL advisor appeared in court accused of defrauding an elderly client out of £340,000.
Simon Sibthorp, 52, of Gerard Road in Wallasey, is accused of fraudulently borrowing the money over a period of three years.
Wirral Magistrates Court was told Sibthorp borrowed the money from the elderly woman saying it would be paid back, but instead it was used to buy a property in France, renovate and furnish it and also for paying off debts.
He faces 20 charges dating from November 2007 to October 2010, with amounts ranging from £2,000 to £75,000. A hearing will be held at Liverpool Crown Court on March 13, 2013.
