A NEW Brighton RNLI volunteer has been shortlisted for a prestigious photography contest.

Volunteer lifeboat press officer Bob Warwick is one of 12 photographers in the running for the RNLI’s annual Photographer of the Year competition.

For the first time in the seven-year history of the competition, the charity is asking members of  the public to vote for their favourite photo.

Votes can be cast on the RNLI’s Facebook page between November 8 and 12.

The competition is open to volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards and celebrates their  lifesaving work.

Bob’s entry shows New Brighton lifeboat station’s Atlantic class lifeboat at sunset.

The winner will receive a Pentax Optio WG-2 camera and a framed print of their winning  photo.

To vote, go to www.facebook.com/rnli and click on the Photographer of the Year tab.
