School governor receives MBE from the Palace

SCHOOL governor Brian Cummings sent in this photo, which was taken after he picked up his MBE at Buckingham Palace last Thursday. 

Mr Cummings, who is pictured with wife Doreen, was among Wirralians honoured in the Queen's birthday list in June.

The father-of-three from Bebington, who is chairman of governors at St Anselm's College and a governor at Birkenhead High School and Wirral Grammar School for Boys, was honoured for services to education.    

Mr Cummings, who received his MBE from Prince Charles, said: "It was an absolutely brilliant day". 

He has previously been a governor of Upton Hall School, Plessington High School, and St John’s Primary. 

Mr and Mrs Cummings enjoyed lunch at the Savoy after the medal reception.
