A MERSEYSIDE dad whose son died two years after being punched outside a nightclub has been stabbed to death in London.
Birkenhead man Brian Templeman, 49, was knifed to death in broad daylight on a busy Peckham street.
Police said Mr Templeman had an argument moments before he was attacked.
Mr Templeman's son Scott Sheard was punched to the ground outside a Southport nightclub in October 2009. The former Formby high school pupil died of septicaemia in January after being left unable to walk, talk or feed himself.
Police found Mr Templeman with knife wounds to his abdomen after they were called to reports of an assault on Peckham Road at around 2.30pm on October 10.
Mr Templeman, who was a glazier by trade, was taken to Kings College Hospital with life-threatening injuries. His condition deteriorated and he died in the early hours of Thursday October 11.
Scott's mum Fenella Hill, who was Mr Templeman's partner 20 years ago, told the ECHO: “My daughter and I are very upset and still in shock.
“He hasn't been my partner for 20 years but was still father to my children.
“It is devastating for Charlotte to lose her brother and father in the same year.”
