New Wirral communities team want your stories

Weeklies group editor Andrew Edwards with MMA Hattie Coyne, communities editor Jo Kelly and MMA Nicola Oakley

WIRRAL News is offering you the chance to see your stories and pictures in your local newspaper. We are looking for Wirral community champions to let us know what is happening in your neighbourhood. Perhaps you are a member of a community group, organisation, charity, sports group or an individual interested in their community. Or maybe you have been to an event such as a dinner, fundraiser, social gathering or awards presentation. Make your local community part of it all by sending us your stories and pictures for publication. Our pages are your pages. Don’t miss the opportunity to send us a selection of pictures for a photo spread or online gallery. No story is too small and we will strive to publish every item you send. This could include anything from two paragraphs publicising an event to a full write-up with accompanying photographs. As part of our drive for community content we have formed a new team of multimedia assistants dedicated to working with you, gathering your stories and pictures. The communities team includes Hattie Coyne, Nicola Oakley and Lis Lambertsen, led by communities editor Jo Kelly. There are lots of ways to get in touch with the team including Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, email, by mail and by phone. Communities editor Jo Kelly said: "The team is really excited to be getting so involved with what’s going in the community. "We will be running this throughout our pages from your letters to nostalgia, leisure and what’s on to grassroots sport."
