YOUR CHAMPIONS: West Kirby woman Lynn Sherratt nominated for award after raising hundreds of pounds for cancer charities

A CARING woman who has dedicated a decade to raising money for cancer charities is the latest nominee for our Your Champions awards.

Lynn Sherratt, 63, of West Kirby, has organised auctions and karaoke nights in her own home, raising thousands of pounds over the last 10 years for Cancer Research UK and breast cancer charities.

Friend Carol Wallace, who put the gran and mum-of-two forward for the award, said Mrs Sherratt was “always there to help”.

She said: “She’s always been the sort of person who, if anybody has a problem, she’ll be there. If someone is ill she’ll make food and take it round to them.

“She is kind, considerate and would help anyone in need. She certainly deserves some recognition.”

Mrs Sherratt’s most recent event brought in an impressive £285.

Carol said: “Her ‘pink’ evenings have been a huge success and fun for everyone. She puts a smile on everyone’s face.”
