David Hunter and Rory Taylor
JESUS contenders David Hunter and Rory Taylor survived last night’s double elimination.
The two hopefuls are vying for the lead role in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Jesus Christ Superstar.
LIPA graduate David from Warrington and rock singer Rory from Heswall will now go into the next live show on Monday before the grand final on Wednesday.
After host of the ITV1 show Amanda Holden announced David would be staying he tweeted to his 8,300 followers: “Thank you so much! This is incredible and it's all because of your votes! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
Jeff Anderson and Jon Moses were eventually eliminated from Superstar.
They were in the bottom three with Roger Wright after viewers’ votes.
The three jointly performed Could We Start Again, Please? from the musical with Lord Lloyd-Webber opting to save Roger.
The new production of Lord Lloyd-Webber and Tim Rice’s musical goes on tour in September.
