Wirral cartoonist creates an exclusive drawing for literacy campaign

A TOP cartoonist from Wirral who has worked for many newspapers and magazines has created an exclusive drawing on the back of an envelope to auction off for charity.

Kipper Williams is one of several celebrities to create something for the “Pushing the Envelope” campaign which aims to raise money for the National Literacy Trust.

He joins a list of well-known faces from the world of television, fashion, music, theatre, sport and literature.

Music group Coldplay, journalist Sir Bernard Ingham, singer Chesney Hawkes, actor Henry Winkler, film and theatre director Mike Leigh, and actor Dame Helen Mirren are among those who have contributed.

Mr Williams, who was born in Bromborough and lived in Chester from the age of three, now works from a central London studio.

Mr Williams said: “Pushing the Envelope is a great campaign that rallies celebrity support for a very worthy cause.”

This is the seventh annual Pitney Bowes Pushing the Envelope campaign that sees everyday envelopes transformed into exclusive works of art which will be sold on eBay next month.
