Phoenix School of Dance stage biennial show at Gladstone Theatre

WIRRAL’S Phoenix School of Dance wowed the crowds in their show at the Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight.

The Upton and Thingwall-based school teaches ballet, tap, modern and disco for all ages from two and a half years to adults and is run by Gill Stott.

The pupils performed a range of routines, with the youngest dancing to the likes of ‘It’s a small world after all’ clad in Minnie Mouse costumes and the seniors taking on more complex routines including a Shrek medley and ‘Omigod you guys’ from Legally Blonde: The Musical.

Gill’s daughter Alyssa, who teaches some of the younger classes with Samantha Williams, said: “The show was fantastic, all the dancers were amazing and we’ve had lots of positive comments from the audience saying how much they enjoyed it, we couldn't be prouder.”

The school gave out its awards on the final night, with Bethan Shields scooping the achievement award, Stephanie Birch the drama gong and Sarah Smith, Helen Corris and Millie McNoon the performance awards.
