A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was found hanged in his bedroom, by his brother, an inquest was told.
Despite desperate attempts by his dad to revive him John McCormick was later pronounced dead at A&E in Arrowe Park.
His devastated parents, Simon McCormick and Donna Pemberton, wept through much of the inquest held in Wallasey town hall.
The hearing was told John, of Farmfield Drive in Prenton, had been sent to the room he shared with brother Ethan after a disagreement over a Playstation while they were staying with their dad at his home in St Oswald’s Mews.
After John went to his room they heard him turn the TV in the bedroom up loud, but when Ethan was sent to bed a short time later he was quickly heard “screaming hysterically”, according to DI Rachel Wilson who gave evidence at the hearing.
She said: “John was found unconscious, with his eyes closed.” He was pronounced dead at 12.30am on March 5, 2011.
Pathologist George Kokai gave the cause of death as hanging.
Coroner Christopher Johnson
recorded a verdict of misadventure.
