BIRKENHEAD MP Frank Field is to use a Parliamentary debate to call for senior managers “who have failed Wirral” to be forced out.
Embattled Wirral Council is bracing itself for more criticism in Parliament as the Birkenhead MP is due to lead a debate calling for the Government to step in and examine the role of senior managers.
Mr Field said he would be asking “the Government to send in Commissioners to look carefully at which officers are up to standard and which should leave the authority forthwith”.
It followed Wirral West MP Esther McVey’s appeal to David Cameron to look into how the authority has been run during Prime Minister’s Questions.
The PM promised to look at the Anna Klonowski report into Wirral’s social services department.
