A BURGLAR reached the end of the line when an eagle-eyed Merseyside police support officer caught him with a string of stolen pearls on a train.
Anthony Edwards targeted a home in the Caldy area of Wirral, smashing his way in through a bedroom window and stealing a pearl necklace.
But when former factory worker PCSO Geoff Graham joined the hunt, the 62-year-old’s criminal career was derailed overnight.
Now the PCSO’s efforts have been rewarded with a commendation from Wirral area commander Chief Superintendent John Martin.

Today the dad-of-two, from Bromborough, said apprehending the burglar was like “scoring a goal in a World Cup final”.
PCSO Graham, a Liverpool fan who gave up his job at meat processing plant Tulip to become a community officer, said: “I’m over the moon to be getting a commendation. I do this job to get involved with the community and try to help people as much as I can.
“The people in the community deserve good policing and I know we’ve got a good team here that works really hard.”
