A TEENAGER was taken to hospital suffering serious burns to his hands after an explosion in his bedroom.
The blast, believed to be caused by a small explosive device or firework going off, happened on Sidney Road in Tranmere at around 5.35pm on Monday August 29.
Initially Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called out after reports that a TV had exploded. However, the TV was intact and other small items that could have caused the explosion are being investigated.
The 17-year-old was taken to Whiston Hospital suffering serious burns.
Merseyside Police and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service have launched a joint investigation.
