16-year-old caught in Rock Ferry cannabis farm

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy was allegedly caught looking after a cannabis factory.

Police raided an address in Highfield Grove, Rock Ferry, last Wednesday and found 400 almost fully grown cannabis plants worth around £160,000 if sold on the streets.

They also found the electricity meter to the property had been by-passed.

The teenager was in the address at the time of the raid and was taken into custody for questioning.

He appeared in court in Birkenhead charged with being involved in the production of cannabis and abstracting electricity.

Insp Paul Vickers, of Merseyside Police, said: “This is a great example of what we can do with information from the community.

“The electrical supply at this address was a fire risk both to the occupants and neighbours.

“I would ask that if you have information regarding drugs please speak to your local officers, contact Merseyside Police direct on 0151 709 6010 or call Crimestoppers.”
