A MAN has denied murdering a charity worker by stabbing him in the heart.
Peter Caine, 27, died after being knifed in the chest in Market Street, Birkenhead, in the early hours of May 12.
Barry Royle, 28, appeared at Liverpool crown court yesterday via video-link from prison charged with his murder.
Royle, of Market Street, confirmed he could hear proceedings, before pleading not guilty to the murder allegation.
The Recorder of Liverpool, Judge Henry Globe fixed a further hearing for September 22. A trial date has already been fixed for October 31.
Royle was further remanded in custody.
Keen artist Mr Caine, who was a volunteer for Wirral CVS as well as a young people’s representative for Forum Housing Association, suffered eight stab injuries with the fatal one being a wound to his heart.
