Enjoy festival fever in Port Sunlight

WHY not drop anchor at Port Sunlight this weekend, when the museum and garden village celebrates its annual summer festival.

Now in its eighth year, the festival takes place on Sunday with fun and games between 11am and 5pm. Entry is free and the festival is expected to attract around 15,000 visitors.

The festival is organised by Port Sunlight Village Trust and will feature a full programme of activities, showcasing all that Wirral has to offer.

There will be everything from traditional fairground rides such as a classic carousel and spinning teacups to live entertainment and the very best in local food and drink.

Event manager Nigel Chapman-Rogers says: “We work hard to ensure that the festival celebrates the very best in family entertainment.”

A must for animal lovers is the festival’s free dog show.

In addition to the fun and games, Port Sunlight will be besieged by more than 100 of the best local producers, including Claremont Farm, Manna Foods and Cupcake Direct, each of which will have a stall offering everything from cheese and homemade pies, to tapas and hot dogs.
