Views needed on protecting Wirral's coastline

VIEWS are needed on how Wirral’s coastline can be protected from flooding and erosion.

Wirral council is developing a coastal strategy which will set out measures to defend the borough’s shoreline, from Gayton on the Dee coast to Eastham on the River Mersey.

Anyone with an interest in Wirral’s coast was today urged to contribute by completing an online questionnaire asking for their views, including which locations should be given the highest priority for protection, and what are the biggest threats to the borough’s shoreline in the future.

The consultation is currently under way and people can find out more and follow a link to complete it online by visiting www.wirral. gov.uk until 5pm on August 31.
