Wirral Coastal Walk invitation to put walking boots on this Sunday

IT’S time to get those walking boots on!

The 25th annual Wirral Coastal Walk takes place this Sunday (May 22) and organisers are hoping for a repeat of last year’s glorious sunshine, which helped attract more than 5,500 walkers.

The 15-mile Wirral Coastal Walk is one of the borough’s biggest fundraising events and raised more than £400,000 for good causes last year.

Walk for the charity of your choice – but don’t forget to register at the start at Seacombe Ferry from 8.30 to 11am.

The registration fee is £4 per walker and £1 per child aged 10 and under. This money is distributed by organisers the Rotary Club of North Wirral to charities.

Walkers can also opt to finish at five miles or 10 miles. If you make it to Thurstaston buses are available between two and six pm from Thurstaston to West Kirby Station (£1 donation) and Thurstaston back to Seacombe Ferry (£2 donation)

Walkers will receive a certificate and gifts, courtesy of event sponsors Unilever, at the finish line – but you must register to receive them.

Sponsorship forms are available from VCA Wirral at 224 Liscard Road Wallasey CH44 5TN. Call 203 2111 or e-mail coastalwalk@vcawirral.org.uk
