Wirral couple enjoy Aston Martin getaway from their wedding ... just like William and Kate

Stuart Leak and his bride, Claire, leave their wedding at Thornton Manor in an Aston Martin DB6 Volante convertible, the same as the royal car that’s owned by the Prince of Wales

AFTER Kate’s dress, the Aston Martin drive-by was probably one of the most talked-about parts of the Royal Wedding.

But the same iconic car was also part of the wedding celebrations for a couple from Upton, Wirral, on Friday.

Stuart Leak, 32, and his bride Claire, 27, were married at Thornton Manor, Thornton Hough, and made their getaway in the manor’s Aston Martin DB6 Volante convertible.

Project manager Stuart said: "It was simply amazing to be getting married at the same time as William and Kate, but I can’t describe how exciting it was to have been driving the same car as well.

"That car has been a talking point all over the world.

"We can’t believe the co-incidence of us having one just like it as part of our wedding day."

Stuart added: "Just like the Royal couple, we had a fabulous day and we’ve now certainly got a lot in common with them.

"The pictures of us in Thornton Manor’s car – which is the same as the Royal car that’s owned by the Prince of Wales – will certainly have pride of place in our wedding album."

After the excitement of their special day, Stuart and Claire, who live in Upton, Wirral, were looking forward to their honeymoon in Thailand.
