DISRUPTION is likely as sections of Claughton Road close from next week to allow work to progress on the new ASDA store.
A contraflow will also be set up along Exmouth Street, between Oxton Road and Exmouth Close, restricting traffic to one lane in each direction.
Wirral Council says the temporary changes are necessary to allow a contractor to proceed with road resurfacing work at the junction of Exmouth Street and Claughton Road, as part of the ongoing ASDA development.
Claughton Road will be closed from its junction with Bentinck Street to its junction with Exmouth Street, for four days from next Monday, April 4.
Phase two will see Claughton Road closed from its junction with Exmouth Street to its junction with Coventry Street.
This is estimated to last four days.
Phase three, estimated to take seven days, will see Claughton Road close from its junction with Exmouth Street to the junction with Hemingford Street.
Signed diversions will be in place throughout.
The work is due to start next Monday and is expected to last until Thursday April 21, but all restrictions will be lifted over the Easter and Royal Wedding bank holidays.
