West Kirby Lifeboat rescues stranded walkers near Hilbre Island
THREE people and a dog were rescued near Hilbre Island this morning by West Kirby Inshore Lifeboat.
The group, who were visiting Wirral from the Sheffield area, were attempting to return to the shore after a walk out to the islands when they were cut off by a larger than normal spring tide.
The three were returned to West Kirby by the lifeboat crew. They were cold and wet but did not need medical assistance.
