WHAT a week it has been for Wirrals environmental campaigning.
Firstly, schools, community groups, youth organisations and workplaces were put to the test in Wirrals Climate Week Mini-Challenge.
Taking place as part of the UKs biggest ever live environmental competition, The Climate Week Challenge, the events involved thousands of people from schools, youth groups, and workplaces all over the country, simultaneously tackling the same task on the same day and all contributing different answers to the same problem. The exact challenge will be revealed on the day.
Wirral Council brought together groups to take part in the challenge at Wallasey Town Hall.
Councillor Gill Gardener, Cabinet Member for Environment said: The Climate Week Mini-Challenge is a great opportunity to harness creativity, inspire innovation, and get people engaged with environmental and sustainability issues. It is a chance to encourage real solutions to very real problems, and to have some fun along the way.
Also this week, councils across Merseyside joined forces to launch the Merseyside Month of the Environment at Woodside Ferry Terminal in Birkenhead.
The four-week push is the latest activity from Merseysides councils in conjunction with The Regenda Group, Vicinity and Arena Housing Group known collectively as the Merseyside Cleaner Greener Partnership (MCSGP).
