Two women have organised a charity event at Hillbark Hotel in aid of Help for Heroes

TWO supportive girlfriends are hoping to raise £20,000 by holding a charity event in aid of Help for Heroes.

Michelle Wild, 27, from Wallasey and her colleague Teri Edwards, 28, from Prenton, both have partners, Phil Finnigan and Mark Downie – also from Wallasey – who are serving in Afghanistan.

They have organised a charity auction and dinner at the Hillbark Hotel, Royden Park on March 12.

Michelle, who works at a beauty salon, said: “Both of our partners are away and every day is a worry – it must be soul-destroying for the families that have relatives who are injured.

“We are committed to supporting those men and women that have been injured, physically or emotionally, just by doing their jobs.”

Auction item include: Liverpool One vouchers, a dress designed by Repooc Couture, stays at the Hillbark Hotel and Leasowe Castle Hotel, and tickets to the races at Aintree with a champagne breakfast.

The Batala Liverpool Samba Band will be playingand there will be special guest dancers.
