Master baker Paul Hollywood comes home to show Prenton youngsters how to use their loaf
MASTER baker Paul Hollywood came home last week to show young cooks how to use their loaf.
The Great British Bake Off judge was guest of honour at Hillside Primary School in Prenton for its “Hillside Bake Off” afternoon on Wednesday.
Now based in Kent, he grew up in Wallasey with brothers Lee and Jason, who is headteacher at the school.
Youngest brother Lee, who runs a bakery firm in Moreton, was also at the event to share his expertise.
Parents joined youngsters to make delicious muffins, shortbread and Eccles cakes and compete in bake off challenges.
After demonstrating breadmaking Paul joined Lee to judge a home bake off, which saw adults picking one of four recipes and bringing in the results.
The event also had a festive flavour, with pupils decorating gingerbread Christmas trees, Santas and snowmen.
