X Factor star Lloyd Daniels switching on Christmas lights at Birkenhead shopping centre next week

X FACTOR favourite Lloyd Daniels is switching on Birkenhead’s Christmas lights on Saturday.

The 17-year-old budding pop star will press the button to start festive illuminations at the Grange & Pyramids Shopping Centres.

The switch-on at 4.40pm will be the highlight of an afternoon of entertainment in St Werburgh’s Square.

There will be dance acts, games, competitions and live music from 2 to 5pm.

Camp Rock and Hannah tributes will get the crowds singing along and local groups Xtreme Dance and Starmakers will be demonstrating their best street dance moves.

Lloyd, who came fifth in last year’s X Factor, will perform from around 4pm.

Grange & Pyramids Shopping Centre commercial director Derek Millar said: “We’re really pulling out the stops this year to start Christmas with a bang.

“We know that Lloyd is a big pull for the young ladies and are very pleased with the big afternoon of entertainment we’ve put together.”
