PARENTS’ reluctance to become more energy efficient could be undoing all the good work teachers, schools and the media are doing to educate children about becoming more environmentally friendly.
That’s according to a new study which found that over a third of parents admit they are setting a poor example for their own children when it comes to energy waste. Over half also say they fear their children will be as wasteful as they are by the time they become young adults.
Nearly 40% of parents polled in the survey commissioned by AlertMe admit they have made little or no effort to change their habits to become more energy efficient in the past five years.
So, despite the drive by schools, the government and businesses to educate children on the benefits of being green, are we undoing all the good work?
