Birkenhead decorating specialist Robinson Neal named Retailer of the Year

A MERSEYSIDE family-owned firm set up 111 years ago has clinched a national award.

Birkenhead-based Robinson Neal was named Retailer of the Year by the Home Decoration Retailers’ Association.

The company, with branches in Birkenhead, Liverpool, Chester and Bangor, sells decorating materials and provides an individual advice and product-sourcing service.

Judges said it “ticks all the boxes required to make the customer feel special” while complimenting the business on its helpful and friendly staff, its personal service, expert technical advice and its willingness to track down specific products for customers.

At the awards in Birmingham, managing director Richard Neal said: “We feel greatly honoured and really appreciate this recognition. We are a family business and we take enormous and individual care of our customers. It is why we are in business. We believe that in retail, as in trade, it’s the detail that counts.”
