Miss Wirral, Yasmina Jones to fight for Miss England crown

A WEST Kirby Grammar School pupil will represent the region at a national competition after scooping the Miss Wirral crown.

Yasmina Jones is only 18, but beat off stiff competition to land the sash at the Gladstone Theatre bash.

Yasmina, 18, told Wirral News: “I was shocked and very excited. I didn’t expect to win.”

Yasmina won a £500 prize package from House of Fraser, a portfolio from Paul Fisher Photography and a website from Camm 21.

Yasmina plans to study to become a lawyer and believes her mind and dedication to good causes helped her win.

She said: “I think it was the speech at the end about why I entered, that did it for me. I’m quite used to public speaking so I think I did well.

“I talked about helping others and doing voluntary work with the Youth Parliament. Also I spent last summer in Asia with school, helping poor children in Mongolia.”
