CLAIRE House is hoping at least 250 walkers will don their walking boots this year in support of the children’s hospice.
Last year sponsorship raised from the Wirral Coastal Walk raised over £25,000, which area fundraiser Kirsty Wright says was a “fantastic result”.
But with the hospice receiving no guaranteed Government funding and £2.5m needed each year – £7,000 a day – to keep it open, it is hoping for an even bigger cash boost in 2010.
Claire House, based in Bebington, offers care to children and young people aged up to 23 suffering life limiting and life threatening conditions.
Kirsty said: “Events such as the Wirral Coastal Walk form an important part of the fundraising events calendar that partly enables us to keep our doors open.Š
“Claire House has been involved with the Wirral Coastal Walk since the very first walk, and we have offered our support year in and year out.
