GRIEVING relatives are calling for CCTV cameras to be installed at the baby garden in Landican Cemetery after a string of thefts.
The families say items like teddy bears and flowers have been taken from graves and memorials – and thieves have even stolen Christmas decorations.
A group on social networking website Facebook, “Help us Get a Camera for Landican Baby Garden” calling for the cameras has 7,150 members.
Mark Williamson’s grandson Jacob John Williamson-Booker, who was stillborn at 34 weeks, is buried in the cemetery.
Mr Williamson, from Wallasey, said: “I want to bring it to the public’s attention because I think it has become a forgotten cause.
“We had items like flowers going missing and what is most upsetting is that my daughter Lindsay is very hesitant to put any more on the grave.
“My wife and I are totally disgusted and we would like to see if anything can be done about it, like locking the gates in the evening.”
