ELECTION 2010: Your chance to quiz Wirral candidates

WIRRAL News today unveils its election charter for the people.

We are giving our readers the chance to tell the politicians what YOU want from them in return for your vote.

We want to find out the local issues that matter most to you – and then ask the election candidates what they would do on your behalf if they were to be voted into the Houses of Parliament.

As we went to press an announcement on the date for the general election was imminent – but all the clever money is on a May 6 date at the polls.

In the next two weeks we are asking you to let us know what you think are the issues that must be addressed in our communities.

It might be health, education, crime, the economy, anti-social behaviour whatever. All of us have a view on what has to be done to make our communities better, safer places to live,

Now is the chance for you to make your voice heard.

This country is a democracy – and it is a democracy that exists today only thanks to the sacrifice of many thousands of people who have fought for freedom and democracy in two world wars.

Turn outs at the polls have been scandalously low in recent years.
