WIRRAL’S Year of Food celebrations are continuing with events to mark Mother’s Day and Easter.
Award-winning chef Brian Mellor will be holding a cookery course at Claremont Farm kitchen on March 14, while Gorge ‘Us in Bebington will be serving special Mother’s Day afternoon teas.
On March 27 and 28, Brian will be looking at Forgotten Easter Treats at Claremont Kitchen and creating some delicious treats including Simnel cake, Easter biscuits, fudge and chocolate treats.
From April 3 to 5 Church Farm Organics in Thurstaston will be holding an Easter Egg Hunt.
The Year of Food aims to showcase the borough’s best food producers, restaurants and retailers.
Juggy Landay, Wirral Council’s Destination Marketing Manager, said: “The success of the events that have taken place so far is an indication of how local people and visitors are supporting Wirral’s Year of Food.
“Wirral is recognised as having fantastic food and by putting ourselves in the spotlight this year Wirral’s food industry will be given another major boost.”
Other dates for the diary are May 3 to 9, when Roses Tea Rooms in Heswall will be serving honey-themed afternoon teas to mark National Honey Week.
