THE TRANSFORMATION of Upton’s Warwick Park continues this weekend.
The Friends of the park, on the Woodlands in the village, are staging their first ‘Saturday morning work day’ of the year between 10am and noon and are appealing to Wirral News readers to come and help out.
If you’re ready to get down and dirty then you will be welcomed with open arms, with tasks ranging from edging pathways and hoeing and digging to clearing rubbish.
Chairman Rachel Collins said: “Since forming in 2008, we have worked tirelessly on the park and hopefully it is in a much better condition than when we started.
“The pond alone is unrecognisable and hopefully families will have noticed the difference in the playground too.
“As well as the work day, we are holding a Easter Parade at the beginning of April, and are looking for volunteers to come along to help however they can.
“Even if you can’t do anything practical, come along and support your local park.”
The Friends are also organising a picture competition, with entries of photographs or paintings welcome from all age groups.
The pictures should capture and reflect the nature of the park throughout the year, with entries for the theme ‘Winter’ welcome until March 19.
Entries to be sent to friendsofwarwickpark@hotmail.co.uk or posted to 8, The Woodlands, Upton, Wirral. Please include your name, age and contact details.
